ALL CLEAR! NO CANCER! ALL PROBLEM CELLS WILL RESOLVE BY THEMSELVES!
Basically it’s the best news ever. This makes two clean bills of health. And, while my doctor is always very keen on telling me that it doesn’t mean I’m guaranteed to be okay forever, each good report means that the odds of that increase.
I am so lucky. I am so grateful. It’s one week until Thanksgiving and I know exactly what I’m thankful for: for my health, for my medical team, for my incredible family and friends.
“I’m going to live to be one hundred!” I texted Michael.
“YAY!” he texted back. “This means you’re indestructible now.”
“Oh yeah. Nothing short of a hydrogen bomb could take me out now.”
“Even then, I give you 50/50 odds.”
So that’s that. When your friends are willing to back you in an apocalyptic situation, you know everything is going to be alright.
